August 2012: FREE Fly-Casting Clinic

Seminars and Presentations by Bob Jacklin every Sunday, during the summer, Bob will conduct a free fly-casting clinic in West Yellowstone. Meet at Jacklin's Fly shop at 7:30PM. Fly rod outfits are available free of charge. If you'd like some help with your casting or would like to start learning, this is a great place to start. Born in the past to ease the cowboys’ boredom, today’s rodeos are pure excitement!  Bareback Riding, Team Roping, Saddle Bronc Riding, Breakaway Roping and Bull Riding are just some of the scheduled events.  Performances are at 8:00 pm each night and will be held at the Rodeo arena just 4 miles west of town.  Join the fun!

Living History and Trader’s Row are the core of this opportunity to experience the West and its people. Demonstrations of carding and spinning wool, making butter and leather working; Seminars on Native American Culture and the Fur Trade Era; Entertainment and Competitions such as Cowboy Poetry, Storytelling, Black Powder Shoot, Knife and Tomahawk Throws are all part of the ten day mix. The encampment will be set up on the West side of town.

August 2012: 2nd Annual Hebgen Cup

West Yellowstone, Montana - Kirkwood Resort and Marina was the location for the first ever sailboat race to be held on Hebgen Lake.  This regatta will represented the beginning of sailboat racing and camaraderie among sailors in the area. 

The Hebgen Cup was held in conjunction with the Annual Trout Cook-Off at Kirkwood Resort.
