This day commemorates the arrival in West Yellowstone of the first Union Pacific passenger train filled with Yellowstone bound tourists in 1908. FREE Admission to the Museum of the Yellowstone on this day!

Born in the past to ease the cowboys’ boredom, today’s rodeos are pure excitement!  Bareback Riding, Team Roping, Saddle Bronc Riding, Breakaway Roping and Bull Riding are just some of the scheduled events.  Performances are at 8:00 pm each night and will be held at the Rodeo arena just 4 miles west of town.  Join the fun!

The National Park Service has waived admission fees to all national parks on 17 selected dates throughout 2011 and encourages all Americans to visit a national park this year.

The West Yellowstone Ski Education Foundation (WYSEF) will host a Mountain Bike Biathlon on the Rendezvous Ski Trails.  This unique event combines mountain biking and target shooting. BYO-Bike and Helmet, rifles provided. Safety clinic included. 

Spectators are encouraged to attend either day and there is no charge to use the Rendezvous Ski trails during the summer months.  Volunteers are needed.  Anyone interested in helping out should contact WYSEF Director, Sara Hoovler at 406-599-4465 or info@rendezvousskitrails.com
